Loved the ease with which I was able to build a new system with this board. The system is very fast and the board responded well to all the components that we installed. The on-board WiFi is a nice bonus for a computer that is located in my son's room (which is down the hall from the router location). I also love the included utilities that allow for monitoring and adjusting various components (Fan X-pert, for example). The GUI BIOS is one of the easiest BIOS that I've had the opportunity to work through.

This board along with the other components has made for a very fast custom desktop that my son will enjoy for a little while before we have to upgrade. By all appearances, upgrades will be fairly easy.

I've built a couple PC's with Intel MB's (back in the Pentium4 days) and have been very happy with their quality and performance. I tried to do that recently and had a really bad experience with compatibility (with an Intel processor!!!). I have known of Asus for many years, just never used their stuff. Well...I'm a convert now!

This MB is well laid out and FULL of features! It's good enough for a low-mid gamer, and perfect for high-end general-purpose machines (what I just built). Fully integrated graphics with 4 different output types, lots of expansion slots, gigabit ethernet plus wireless-N w/ external antenna, built-in HD audio, the list goes on... Honestly, the only thing it doesn't have that I would expect (and it's "big brother" deluxe or pro versions do include) is an eSATA port. But with the growing options in USB3, I don't think that's critical at all.

The software (both BIOS and Utilities) assortment is the major clincher for my conversion. This puts the Intel utilities (even today's offerings) to shame. Everything is customizable down to the last detail. I had fun looking through all the options, but other than setting my boot order in BIOS and setting a fan controller to a min speed instead of allowing it to be turned off when not needed (after "auto-tuning" the fans), I left almost everything else on "Auto". Honestly, the chipset and software are very capable and I've not found anything yet where I feel tweaking the settings will be beneficial.

This is a great full-featured board at a great price! If you don't need gamer-level customization, but don't want stripped-down entry-level features with limited connectivity, this one is a great fit right in the middle.

Edit 2.12.2013 - apparently the board will run Linux, but I cannot personally attest to that.
-----------------------------------------------

Build details (hardware from Amazon):
This board
Intel Core i5-3570K Quad-Core Processor 3.4 GHz 4 Core LGA 1155
Corsair Vengeance Red 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1866 MHz (PC3 15000) Desktop Memory (CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9R) (2x4Ghz)
Windows 7 Pro 32 bit Service pack 1
--------------------------

I'm not going to go over or list the board features, all that is well documented on the Asus website, but I will highlight missing stuff or unexpected included features.

First off, the ONLY operating systems the board will officially support are XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8. You Linux types (I are one of those:-) ) need to look somewhere else for your build. [EDIT: apparently Linux will run on the board but I have no direct experience.] If you are still using Vista, I will ask why? Dump that turkey. If I remember correctly, XP won't support USB 3.0 or SATA 3 which are board features.

This Asus board replaced a two year old Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P build that started spontaneously shutting down (like you pulled the plug) and occasionally giving me the 'blue screen of death', ironically an almost identical build (my big tower) has had stability problems almost from day one of the build. Replacing the power supply and memory didn't cure the problem, so time for a new build.

Before my two Gigabyte builds, I had an Asus board that ran faithfully for three or four years and I only retired it due to being too far behind the performance curve, so it seemed like a no-brainer to return to the warm fuzzy feelings I've always had for Asus mobos.

This board has a good layout with everything nicely positioned for easy access. One very minor complaint is the SATA connectors face forward and not straight up from the board. Since both side panels are easily removable on my Gigabyte mid-tower case, there was no problem with connector access. Note if you need Firewire (1394) or Bluetooth, this board does NOT have those features. It does have Wi-Fi GO! - an included WiFi module (only 2.4 Ghz band) that you need to install *BEFORE* you mount the board in the case.

A *very* cool build feature is a separate little header where you can plug in your HDD LED, power, reset, speaker connectors and then you plug that header onto the appropriate pins on the mobo. This is so much easier than trying to get the individual connectors onto the correct pins on the mobo.

This board easily overclocked from 3.4 Ghz to 4.1 Ghz with Asuss' AutoTune, I was very surprised at how effective that feature is - even when rendering video, my CPU temps never go above 60C (at maybe 60% CPU load.) And all of this is with the stock Intel cooling fan. With the relatively mild overclocking (it should OC to at least 4.5 Ghz if you have better CPU cooling), it is extremely stable - I have yet to have a stability issue over a several day period (I have not run Memtest or stressed the CPU though.)

Speaking about cooling, the board will accommodate two 4-pin CPU fans and three 4-pin chassis fans (you can use three or four pin fans.)

Since I'm not a gamer, the on-board iGPU graphics is fine, if I ever feel the need for better video performance, I'll drop a graphics card in.

An install tip for you, if replacing a motherboard and keeping your existing operating system and hard drive (not a fresh OS install), you need to make a change in the BIOS before you can boot into Windows. Go into the BIOS settings and select Advanced> Advanced> SATA Configuration> SATA Mode Selection> and select IDE mode. Then install the drivers. This setting automatically changed back to AHCI after the drivers were installed and we rebooted.

Asus is doing a great job of releasing BIOS updates, the latest is 1616 as I write this review, one of your first tasks should be to update the BIOS.

Asus' utility suite, AI Suite II (2.01.01), works and works well, I'm puzzled about the all of the negative reviews and feelings about this suite. One minor gripe is with the Probe II monitor utility. Here you can set alarm parameters for voltages, temperatures (CPU and mobo) - the complaint I have is the lowest fan alarm rpm you can set is 600, problem is my chassis fans will spool down to 300-400 rpm. I'd rather have the fans spool down than run them at a minimum of 600 rpm to keep the dust bunnies out of the case.

Wi-Fi GO! is interesting. I played with the remote desktop feature on both my Acer Android tablet and my iPhone 3gs, both worked and worked well. Also, Wi-Fi GO! provides plain old WiFi connectivity, there is no need to use any of the gee-whiz features of the application utility.

A caveat when you install AI Suite II - Avast did not like the software and kept it from execution, I had to exclude the Asus program directory from the Avast scan. Your security application might also have issues with the Asus suite since it is accessing the hardware/BIOS. (I got tired of Avast nagging me to upgrade so I uninstalled it and installed Microsoft Security Essentials.)

The documentation is very good and not written in 'Chinglish', Asus must have very good technical writers very conversant in English. One documentation weakness is not a thorough explanation of the zillions of BIOS tweaks you can make. In most cases the option descriptions are very basic and many of them left me puzzled as to why/what/how.

Final thoughts:

Good board that easily met and surpassed my requirements and expectations. I also liked the Asus utility suite. I chose the Core i5-3570K to keep the build costs down a bit, but for a performance build consider a two core (with hyperthreading) or a four core i7.

If still undecided about the PZ77 Asus boards, there are many very good YouTube videos out there - look for those videos that feature JJ from Asus - he is their Senior Technical Marketing guy and extremely knowledgeable about the board series. (In fact, even if you are buying the board, watch some videos!)

This motherboard is very nice. I built a system from scratch with a i7-3770K CPU and 32 GB RAM with a eVGA video card hooked up to three 24 inch monitors and the system runs fast and quite. It was very easy to install the motherboard and connect everything. Had the system up and running in a few hours. I would also highly recommend the Velocity Micro GX2-W case. It is very easy to install everything in this case and it has nice prewiring.

Been a long time ASUS user and this is the first time I've had to return one. Board just wouldn't boot. As soon as I hit the power button, it would shutdown. I triple checked, remounted everything 3x. I was worried that I might have fried the CPU, so I took the same parts moved them to an older Asus motherboard and all was well.

I asked Amazon for a replacement. I'll update if I get another dud. I'm giving it 3 stars because I hope ASUS comes through and I give it a more favorable review. The board has everything I want.

-- update 11/2

Amazon got it to me in a day :)

As I expected, this motherboard is excellent quality. I don't know what this new BIOS does but Win 7 reboots in under 10 seconds, it's just amazing.

No need to go into pros, this is excellent motherboard. The UEFI BIOS is awesome. Boot time is unbelievable. Performance is darn good. 4.4Ghz on i2500k easy.

Some cons:

1) Not enough SATA cables for all the SATA ports? Why only 4 cables when there are 8 ports?

2) I couldn't find instructions on Wi-fi and how to connect the antenna. I tried twisting it on but I think it's just snap on.

3) It's not clear you need to instal the Wi-fi Go module and affix it with the screw BEFORE placing the motherboard in a case.

4) The 90 SATA connectors does not work well if using a 2 in 1 SSD adapter in 3.5" bay. Should just be straight. Perhaps it's an advantage for smaller cases ?

5) Why isn't there an ISO of ALL the utilities on ASUS website? It's a real pain to download each and every utility and install one by one. I don't install CD/DVDs anymore.

6) USB3 front-panel connector is too shallow. Feels unsecure.

Looks good and has some great features! The Z77 Chipset cooler is gorgeous! This board is great for its price! It has a bunch of high end features such as TPU and EPU. Also, it includes a Wi-Fi Go adapter that can also be used to create a hotspot for your mobile devices! Overall a great MOBO!

Using this motherboard was a pleasure as I had no issues at all. I have built many desktops in my day and this was by far the most trouble free. Love the new BIOS and Windows 8 loaded and found all of the hardware and installed all of the default drivers. Nice...
This is my 3rd Asus MB and after doing some research I decided on this one. If your on the fence about a quality Z77 board this is the way to go. Has lots of SATA ports and setup was breeze. Like previous posters said make sure you assemble the WIFI before installing the MB into the case! My only complaint is I was not able to flash the bios using Flashback, the light flashed for 5 seconds then went solid which indicated there was some issue. I was able to flash it in the bios before installing windows. The BIOS is great, this is my first UEFI and it's so much better. I used the turbo mode to get a safe 4.1ghz OC. I also went with a Samsung 830 256gb SSD and if you have been waiting to switch from mechanical drives it will blow your mind! Anyway, this is a solid board with some great features and you won't be disappointed!

I haven't fully switched over to this board yet, but I've been testing it with the Windows 8 customer preview. It works well with everything so far. The USB3 speed is very fast and the integrated nic is also pretty quick, sometimes I'm able to hit 60MBS on Gigabit LAN. No problems with installation on 8 or 7. Pretty solid product so far.

This board for me has been typical for Asus quality, rock solid. I have had no major issues with the motherboard. I'm running a Core i5 3570k at 4.7 Ghz with 16 gigs of Corsair Vengeance 1600 ram. This board comes with several great features I really enjoy. The easy BIOS update is great, update from windows with Asus update or from a USB flash drive. The UEFI Bios makes tweaking a breeze. This board boots very quickly, sometimes I don't have enough time to hit the delete button. The integrated WiFi works flawlessly. Basically, this board has every feature I could possibly need, which is why I didn't opt for a more expensive model. The Asus utility suite has some pros and cons. The auto tuning feature worked well for me, but further teaking from the app didn't go so well. Here's my major gripe, the tuning app set my vcore to 1.5v without my input. OC profiles wouldn't save so evey time I reboot the PC I'd have to reapply my settings. I ended up doing my overclocking directly from the BIOS and I've had no problems since. My other gripe is in the windows app you can set your vcore with a slider bar, in the bios you can either go full manual or offset mode. I don't find trying to manipulate the vcore offset to be as user friendly as sliding a bar to your desired max vcore. Also, I haven't been able to get consistent results out of the offset settings. I'm running +.080 to get my desired 1.28 vcore which seems to be counter intuitive to everything I've read (vcore - desired vcore = negative offset). As of this date I'm running the most recent BIOS, maybe in the future the vcore adjustment could be a little easier.

Putting my little issues aside, I would buy this motherboard again and I will continue to buy Asus in the future.

I really love this board! The design is great and very sleek especially after my old P55 board. I'm running a brand new i7 3770K and a gtx 670 in it with 8GB of G-Skill RipJaws DDR3 1600mhz RAM (which it recognized imediately and set correct speed/timmings#. The UEFI is a breeze to navigate through with a lot of good features.

There really isn't much to differentiate between motherboards nowadays, so I chose ASUS for their great AI Suite utilities. The Wifi-GO of Asus is really quite cool and I can stream my desktop to my ipad2 and other compatible wifi devices around the house. There is also a great OC utility that you can run from windows which will find and optimize the near best OC for you #have a look at the PC Prespective live review of ASUS Z77 overclock on youtube#.

I went with the V over the V-Pro because I really didn't need more mobo Fan headers/or the bluetooth, and saved a decent amount. One thing I ahve to point out to new builders is to enable RAID mode over AHCI in the UEFI before installing for the first time. I installed windows onto a new Samsung 830 128gb SSD in AHCI mode and later couldn't set up RAID my 2x 500gb raid 0 drives w/o re-installing/restoring windows. There are NO drawbacks to enabling RAID #non-raided drives run in AHCI) but at least it gives you the option to create a new array later on.

I would have given this mobo 5/5 stars hands down except my top 2 USB3.0 ports (the ones on the mobo itself) don't work. They don't provide any power and don't recognize any peripherals connected. I have scoured the UEFI for a setting to enable/disable but haven't found any. It's a shame really because this is a great producd. Anyway, well done to ASUS, I'll update this review if somehow the USB's come to life.

Edit:
The usb problem was caused by driver problems. I recently downloaded a new batch of usb 3 drivers from ASUS and voila, they started working!!! I then re-installed the old drivers to be sure of the cause of the error and again, they stopped working..

This is one of the best Motherboards I have ever purchased or used. I have been a home PC builder enthusiast for 20 years and I have always found ASUS products to be some of the best. I tried a Gigabyte mother board for this project and returned it to Amazon because of hardware compatibility issues. This board worked right out of the box. I do recommend updating the bios immediately for Windows 8 compatibility. The software suite that comes with this board is wide and deep. The Wi-Fi works flawlessly but be sure to mount it on the motherboard before mounting the ATX motherboard in your case. Amazon is also my go to for great prices and support.

This motherboard is the best thing I could ask for. It's got USB 3.0 and will have a thunderbolt connector once they give us an adapter. It's pretty sweet, even has a fast charging for one night when my iPad charger was lost and needed it for work, it was there to finish charging it that night. Already been a life saver once, and still has plenty of ability to do more with sli, and more ram.

I recently built a new computer and wanted to use an AMD processor. My son recommend ASUS , so I called the support department to find out which board I should use and was able to talk with a tech right away that provided all of the information I needed. The mother board comes with a program CD that makes it easy to update the bios without any problems or affect on any of the installed programs. I downloaded the BIOS from the ASUS web site. I recommend the board and company that make it. I also got the board for a good price along with a rebate.

Bought this mobo a couple weeks ago and it has worked great. I chose the "v" version over the "pro" version and saved $30 (the pro version has 4 usb 3.0 ports, the v version has 2). The simple overclocking feature is well worth the price of this board. Enabling the TPU switch on the mobo overclocked my 3770k from 3.5 to 4.2. All with one flip of a switch on stock cooling. Nice! I highly recommend this mobo.
I have several of these boards and I couldnt be happier. I have 3 computers with the board running at full CPU load 24 hours a day (Seti@Home) and rarely have resets/problems. I use them with the Intel 2600k processor. I dont have time to mess with fidling around with voltages and tweaking for max overclock anymore so I really liked the AI Auto Tuning feature. Litteraly one click and it figured out a decent overclock.. 3.5mhz to 4.5mhz. no bloat ware so im happy about that too. Remember your motherboard is only as good as the power you supply it. Dont skimp on the powersupply. I recommend the Corsair PSU's with this board
I know its confusing what brand to buy and what product of the brand to choose. i did a lot of research before buying this one. Many will consider ASRock for the price difference. However, i narrowed down the brands to Gigabyte, Asrock, MSI and asus.

After comparing all together, Asus was the best choice from Quality, OC capabilities, price and Software. im not gonna go into details because the [...] has a gr8 article about these four mainboards so you can read it and compare yourself then choose whats best for you.

Now the hard question was, should i buy this one, Deluxe or pro?

i did a simple trick and went to newegg and compared the three products, all of them are the same except one has more USB 3.0 ports, bluetooth, more SATA 3 ports, more PCIe 1x slot.

the price varies around 100$ between this one and the deluxe just for more USB 3.0 , Sata 3 and bluetooth. However, i dont need these extra stuff and i dont think they should cost that much, so i went with this one, saved 100$ and get other stuff with it.

However, about the product itself, this is the best mainboard -whether this, deluxe or pro- among all of others, very solid, stable. ASUS software bundle is gr8 as well.

If you are thinking of upgrading your PC, this is the best choice to get, good deal on a gr8 mainboard.

I got this mobo through micro center for 199.99. Anyways this mobo packs a real punch. Here's the pros/cons/final thoughts.

Pros:
Supports SLI/Crossfirex.
Supports 3rd Gen Core i3/5/7 series.
z77 chipset.
ASUS gives you the block when plugging in the power switch cables i love that.
2 USB 3.0 headers.
PCI 3.0 Support w/Ivy Bridge processor installed only.

Cons:
Before you turn it on get the updated drivers! The ones on the CD are good but I had error messages saying it can't find the hotfix file or whatever. With the updated drivers on my usb stick it was a smooth installation.

FInal Thoughts:
This is my 2nd build. Upgraded from an 775 core 2 duo e7200. I was going to go with the new core i7 3770k but its way too much money. The 3570k will be more than enough for anything that the average gamer needs to do.

-Suggestion: You may get the error CPU fan Error: Just go into bios and set all fan warnings to ignore. Solved problem :)

Here's my rig.
Asus p8z77-vpro (pro version of this motherboard)
Intel Core i5 3570k 3.4ghz stock + CM Hyper 212+
16gb ddr3 1600mhz 4x4gb Corsair LP
120gb Intel 520 SSD SATA III
1TB HDD
2x HD6870 Sapphire 1gb ddr5 setup in crossfirex
Raidmax 850watt psu 80+gold
Samsung blu ray reader
Corsair 600t White

One quick question if anyone out there can help me. I have never setup raid before is it possible to do it with my SSD and my HDD. I want windows 7 pro on my ssd while the HDD handles everything else.

_______Update______________ 11/29/12

Everything is running smoothly. I had a few bumps in the road while updating bios versions. One of the biggest problems I had is when I flashed to bios v1406, back in July my CPU fan went to full speed (2k rpm) and it would stay at full speed the entire time. I knew it was the bios that messed it up and I wanted to go back so I went back to Asus's website to download 1206 again but I noticed that v1406 was gone and that's when it hit me I downloaded a crappy version of bios for my board :P. I waited for the next version to come out but I waited for a few days to make sure that they wouldn't take it down like they did for 1406. They never did and I updated to 1506. That unfortunately did not fix the problem, I ended up downloading all of the updated utilities fan xpert 2 and Asuite and that immediately fixed the problem with the CPU fan running at full speed.

Also if you are noticing that your download and upload speeds are terrible. This may or may not help you out. For my internet speed I have fios at 25/5mbps. When I did a speed test I was getting 10/2. So naturally I looked on google and I ended up joining tomshardware where I found my answer. Basically turn off Inetworkcontrol in Asuite. I forget the exact name but turn it off and your speeds will drastically improve. That software is bogus.

Board is still running strong, hope to have it last till 2020 :) for the next build

This was my first build myself and used this board. After turning on the system, updating the board was really easy from the Asus website. The board is full of features. I got this board over the P8Z77-V Pro because I already had a eSata bracket available which was the only really big difference minus 1 extra fan header. The 5 fan headers are plenty for my needs. The Asus AI Suite II is fantastic in my opinion. The Wi-Fi Go, Fan Xpert 2, Network iControl, USB Charger+ are great. The exclusive Q-connector is a feature all Motherboards should have. The USB 3.0 and Z77 Chipset work great. For those that don't overclock, the EPU feature is great and for those that do overclock, the TPU feature works for those. 1 board that can accomodate a large group of people and their needs/wants. There are way too many features to discuss here that this board does. I highly recommend this board, plus it looks great and overclocks very well when desired to do so.

AsRock has turned itself into an amazing company. This motherboard is brilliant. Just last night, I was tinkering and broke some settings on the BIOS. Instead of having to dive into the case, there lies a "clear CMOS" button on the I/O panel.

Made my life a breeze!

There are premade overclocking features for your CPU, but I don't fully trust them. But who really cares, it's better to do it yourself anyway! Not worth a star knocked off.

This is for the AS Rock LGA1155 Z77 Extreme 4

I replaced an ASUS motherbaord with this one. There are a few things to note about some of the negative reviews that are unwarranted from those that will not be bothered to read the manual (even the quick start manual, not the thick instruction booklet).

If not for the impatience of a few, this board would be a 5 star board save for any true DOA boards that an unlucky person may have received. Some drivers needed to be installed before the board and some of the ports could be utilized to its potential. The Driver and software package disk that came with the board allowed individual installation or a complete suite install. I was able to find a driver and/or explanation in the instructions for every complaint lodged against this board so far (DIMM slot priority, USB ports, PCIe and SATA port priority) and was up and running the first attempt to boot.

PROS:
- This board looks and feels fantastic. Lots of CPU and Case fan plug ins. Lots of other options if you expand your external ports.
- Despite claims of flimsiness, I found the board to be just as sturdy as my previous ASUS board.
- Despite claims of the board being short, it is exactly the same width as my previous ASUS board.
- Side facing SATA ports allow the removal or adjustment of drives or other installed items in the lower bays without having to remove the connectors from the board.
- The I/O back plate was painted black (might be a con if you have a non black case) with colored port edges.
- The UEFI is an amazing leap forward from the BIOS (mouse support, GUI, internet connection for Flash updating etc)
- Accessibility to tweak your board and auto recovery when it doesn't work out (such as overclocking etc.)
- LCD error reporting instead of translating Morse Code beeps.

CONS: (minor and situational cons)
- If there is any obvious negative it is that obscenely large aftermarket coolers may have issue with its proximity to the DIMM slots. I have a CoolerMaster TX3 with a 2 fan Push/Pull; Ram will fit in all 4 slots even with this cooler. If there are raised heat sink fins it may touch the fan depending on the brand and how it is spread out, but are otherwise completely interchangeable without removing the CPU cooler fan. A larger such as the CoolerMaster 212 may not allow for this.
- Front Panel plug ins (at the front top of almost every case) are located at the bottom rear of the board. Your front panel's cabling may barely reach. This seems common among many boards, but as great as this board is it would have been nice if it had taken it one closer step to supremacy by putting those front panel audio ports in a more convenient place.

I've not built a pc in >5 years, but with this MB it was a breeze. It's big with lots of room. I placed 4 sticks of 1600 ram and a huge Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO cpu cooler on my 3770k intel processor and it all fit. Also I placed a Nvidia Gigabyte 670gtx(big, long card!) without a problem. The MB has a ton of fan support for cooling. This MB is made to overclock along with my components. I'm a rookie at overclocking but the software was a breeze. I've owned this for 2 months and I am still pleased. This MB had great reviews and I'm adding my 5 star to the list.

I am thoroughly satisfied with this board. I've heard some complaints about quality and I can only say they must have had a bad batch at one point, but for me and I had two of these boards at one point, these are excellent.

Navigating the BIOS is incredibly easy and informative. The layout of the board is complete logical and won't leave your hands cramped after plugging devices in.

There's nothing I can say to detract from this product. I will be an ASRock customer from now on!
The important thing is everything works. The I/O Panel Shield was missing when I got the box but I contacted Amazon and they overnighted a replacement motherboard. (Thank you Amazon. Things like this response when things go wrong is why I order from Amazon).

This part of a ~$500 computer upgrade. Motherboard, processor, case and a new SSD drive was added to existing parts. (Note: My old motherboard / AMD processor failed). My DDR3-1600 memory was 'fast enough' so I kept it. Same with the other parts. Nothing else really need to be replaced. Almost everything went together perfectly. This motherboard is mated with a i5-3470 processor, 16GB Ram, A SSD and three other hard drives, two DVD drives. My case is a full tower from Antec (Antec will sell discontinued last years top of the line cases cheap). All this and I have two open hot-swap positions for 3-1/2" hard drives plus a hot swap 2-1/2" drive position.

Things I liked: It worked out of the box. The board does have a clean layout and is a proven board - thought of as one of the best boards in it's class with positive reviews across the world. Since I do not plan to overclock (much) and my case has excellent air flow, the stock processor cooling is more than sufficient. The board has the ability to charge an iPad while connected. I tested charging with two iPods V3&4, three iPad's version V1,2 and 4 and everything says it is charging while connected. This was a nice surprise - the Asus and Gigabyte user reviews indicated problems. The bios screen is something to behold. Onboard buttons to power on / reset / clear cmos. It has enough on board USB connectors for six (6) front panel USB plus two (2) USB 3.0 on your case front (who has that many?). The instructions say that the motherboard has specialized utilities to take advantage of Windows 8 features.

Did not like: The manual. I feel though I should shut-up about it and be grateful that I have a manual at all these days. Did not include a USB3 header to USB3 Female connector. The supplied SATA cables were 90 degree cables (needed straight). This is minor stuff. Assuming that I am able to update drivers / utilities as needed through the future of this motherboard, I'm good.

Summary: If I had a couple hundred more to spend I would probably use the same motherboard and get an i7 processor. A hundred or two more and I would get a second monitor. Any more money double the ram and raid 3T drives. Than a second video card. Than I would need a larger power supply and at this point you should be in a different processor socket.
Very easy setup and lots of features. I was a little weary going with this brand since I've been attached to MSI for so long, but this really opened my eyes to other, better things. One thing I do not like is the plug arrangement that is setup on the I/O panel in the back. It seems like it was kind of slapped together with no arrangment. For example on the top you have 2 USB3 ports, then below you have your vid attachments then 2 USB ports, then 2 USB3 ports.. I would prefer all the same ports to be grouped together. Another thing I'm not particularly crazy about is the fact that there are 2 different chipsets that provide the SATA3 connections. One is Intel which provides two of them and the other two are provided by ASmedia. I know this is a shortcoming of the Z77 design and it is just weird to me that SATA3 is so limited. I came from an AMD 890fx where you get 6 full SATA3 ports ...All from one chipset. But the Intel processor is superior to AMD and that sums it all up right there. Easily overclocked my i5 3570K to 4.5GHZ using only 1.25 volts max and so easily too. I have no doubt I can take this to 5GHZ, and someday I will. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this board mostly to enthusiasts because of the dual PCI-Express 3 slots and wide options for overclocking. Shipping was ultra fast and free. THANK YOU big time for that one!

After months of research, I originally bought this motherboard at a local computer store, but the RAID would not work. I think the Intel chipset might have been defective. Since I had an issue with the local store, I thought it would be safer to buy it from Amazon. I was afraid the local store might have a bad batch. I'll never know for sure, but this one worked perfectly. The first thing I did was enter the BIOS and configured it properly (something I always do since I run RAID on my drives). When I was in there, I noticed an option to update the BIOS (which I did). Very cool. This was the best BIOS and nicest looking BIOS I have ever seen.

I have a front panel device located between my DVD burners that allows me to have front audio, USB 3.0 and E-Sata. This motherboard provided all of the connections for the device. In addition, my case has two front USB 2.0 ports that I was able to connect to the motherboard. Overall this board had everything I wanted and works great. With an I7 processor and an SSD C Drive it boots incredibly fast. With the SATA 6.0 ports, my mirrored data drives scream. I finally have my dream computer!

The only thing I would have liked was one more set of SATA 6.0 ports so I could set up RAID 10. However, by the time I fill the 2 terabyte drives I have mirrored on the current set of SATA 6.0 ports, it will probably be time to upgrade again anyway.

The layout seems sufficient. I really like the color scheme. It had all the options I wanted at a decent price and it wasn't DOA.

One thing to be cautious about is the gpu securing mechanism is a slider. I was used to a little clip thing so I just about broke it off thinking it was like the older MB I used.

At first I was leery due to the name not being well known. I've been told by many of my peers that ASUS or GIGABYTE were the top dogs and do not settle for less. Technically I didn't since AS Rock is a subsidiary of ASUS. This board is top notch quality.

Pros- Great for windows, easy setup, recognizes Intel Core i7 3770K without the need for firmware upgrades, overclocking is way too easy.

Cons - Ubuntu 12.10 has some trouble with the onboard TXH 7.1CH sound. The PCIe x16 3.0 is tight when first installing a video card. Beware of the clip.

At first I was a bit leary not knowing much at AS Rock MBs and reading some reviews on some websites however after using multiple of these boards would highly recommend them!

They are an excellent budget MB for 1155 socket set that has a plethora of OC abilities for the price. Even supporting higher frequency RAM compared to several other boards.

I could go on for pages about how awesome this motherboard is but I'll do my best to keep it brief.

Pros:
1.)Price is amazing
2.)UEFI BIOS is probably the coolest thing to ever happen to motherboards (a graphical BIOS that works out of the box and supports mouse AND keyboard)
3.)Digital Error Display - I don't know what this is officially called, the motherboard has a small 2 digit LCD display that gives codes that can be referenced in the motherboard manual. This way if you have an error with the RAM for example, the motherboard can tell you specifically the RAM is causing the issue and save a boat load of time.
4.)Power and Reset buttons that are built on to the motherboard - makes testing components in your build very quick and easy, no case needed to turn on the computer
5.)Good looking color Scheme
6.)Includes SATA 6 cables for your hard drives
7.)Crossfire/SLI support with 2 PCI EXPRESS 3.0 slots.

Cons:
I haven't found any. I tried my build with an MSI motherboard that costs about $60 more and had memory issues, I used this board and it booted on the first try, solid like a rock. This is THE Z77 chipset board that most people should get.

I'm not saying there aren't other nice boards on this chipset, but for the price there is not a better one.

I bought this to replace my Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD4-B3. Not sure why I went with gigabyte again in the first place since I wasn't overly impressed with the board I bought when I built my q6600 system, ended up sticking with the brand and ended up disappointed again. The last straw was when I went to overclock my 2500k after a year of use and it made it impossible to get it over 4.0GHZ stable.

I decided to eat my loses since my gigabyte board started acting up more and more even after downclocking (system would turn on then off then on then off when powering up for the first time) and bought the Z77 Extreme4. I am extremely impressed with this board. It has all the features "higher end" ASUS boards have yet your not stuck paying extra money for the name. My awesome experience with the board pretty much matches what most "professional" hardware review sites say.

Asrock has officially gained a fan.

I recently ordered this MB and built my first ever gaming rig after a long time. I've to give this motherboard 5 stars as it is built of high quality components and very easy to install. Only issue is that it doesn't come with onboard wireless chip but I still give it 5 stars because you pay half the price for this board compared to Asus or Gigabyte. I would definitely recommend this board for gamers who want to get the juice out of your OC'able processor.

My rig config.
This is the best overclockable processor to build a budget gaming system. Easily OC'ed to 4.2 Ghz without getting hot.

As i was installing this this and was worried at how flimsy it acted under stress of installing the components but as i booted it up everything worked perfect the UEFI was great i got everything installed easy except the heatsink but i always have trouble with those. Great mother board i really recommend for a semi budget build .

This is an excellent computer motherboard that matches the performance of its competitors in the $200-300 price range. Speed of everything is just incredible, especially under the Linux kernel. The latest Linux kernel works incredibly well with everything from UEFI to the drive controllers. Crunches and compiles for months on an end without crash, which leads me to say the motherboard is not only supported but indeed stable.
